Monday’s HS Baseball Roundup: Daugherty Helps Cranberry Beat A-C Valley

EMLENTON, Pa. (D9Sports) — Cameron Daugherty had three hits and two RBIs to lead visiting Cranberry to an 8-3 win over A-C Valley.

Daugherty was 3-for-3 while scoring a run and stealing a base as well in the victory.

Four Cranberry pitchers combined on a two-hitter as well with Tommy Flinspach getting the win going five scoreless innings allowing one hit and two walks while striking out five. Brandon Forrest allowed three runs but no hits. He did walk five in ⅓ of an inning. Andrew Gunn and Nolan Brannon then pitched the final 1 ⅔ innings allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.

Trevor Gladdin and Forrest each chipped in two hits for the Berries with Gladdin going 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored and Forrest 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Austin Kriebel and Joe Dehart had the hits for A-C Valley with Dehart and Sam Anderson adding RBIs.

GREENVILLE 3, FRANKLIN 2

FRANKLIN, Pa. — Perircen Fenton outpitched Connor Rakow and visiting Greenville downed Franklin 3-2.

Fenton went 6 2/3 innings allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out three. Aaron Solderich came on to get the final out after Fenton reached his 100-pitch limit.

Rakow, meanwhile, went five innings allowing three runs, two earned on four hits and four walks while striking out four.

Josh Hittle had a pair of hits and an RBI in the win for Greenville.

Trey Weaver had two hits for Franklin, while Nate Emerson added a double and Rakow walked twice and drove in one run.

SLIPPERY ROCK 6, OIL CITY 3

OIL CITY, Pa. — Derek Van Dyke had a double and two RBIs to help visiting Slippery Rock to a 6-3 win over Oil City.

Danny Wiliams added a pair of hits, a run scored and an RBI for the Rockets, while Kyle Benson had a double.

Shane Ruby was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Oil City with Dylin Chapin going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Tylor Strawbridge doubled and drove in two.

Dylan Dingel got the win going six innings allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out seven. Ricky Mineo picked up the save going one inning, walking one and striking out two.

Ruby took the loss going five innings allowing six runs, three earned, on six hits and a walk while striking out three.

KARNS CITY 10, FOREST AREA 0, 6 INNINGS

BUTLER, Pa. — Jimmy Thompson tossed a six-inning no-hitter and also scored twice while going 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Karns City to a 10-0, six-inning win over visiting Forest Area at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler.

Only a Markus Lantz error kept Thompson from being perfect, as he walked no one and struck out 11.

Tyler Yough led the Karns City offense going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Lantz also drove in a pair of runs for the Gremlins, while Stephen O’Donnell scored twice and drove in one and Jacob Weckerly was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
