WARREN COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Warren-based State Police say around 6:26 a.m. on September 27, a motorcyclist was injured in a crash that occurred on State Route 62, 3330 feet west of Cobham Hill Road, in Watson Township, Warren County.

Police say 51-year-old Jonathan M. McChesney, of Tidioute, was traveling north on SR 62 on a 2006 Yamaha VStar Classic motorcycle and encountered a tree laying across the roadway. The tree was completely blocking the northbound lane of travel and one half of the southbound lane of travel.

McChesney attempted to swerve into the southbound lane of travel to avoid the tree, but the one o’clock position of the motorcycle struck the end of the tree causing him to lose control of it, according to police.

The motorcycle continued to travel north, approximately 210 feet before striking the guard rail on the west side of the roadway and coming to a final rest facing west in the southbound lane of travel, police say.

McChesney suffered minor injuries.

He was transported to Warren General Hospital.

He was using a motorcycle helmet.

Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
