According to Paul Marsh, Fire Chief of Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, the blaze began with an explosion of unknown origin.

No one was at home at the time of the explosion and resulting blaze, and no injuries were reported. The house, the garage, and four vehicles were all a total loss.

The cause of the explosion and resulting fire remain under investigation.

The scene was cleared around 1:15 p.m.
