Multiple Injuries Reported in Crash That Shut Down Portion of Route 322

ASHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Multiple patients were transported to UPMC Northwest following a crash that shut down a portion of U.S. Route 322 near the Venango-Clarion county border on Monday.

Clarion County 9-1-1 said the call came in around 10:23 a.m. for a report of a three-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 322 near Kline Road in Ashland Township, Clarion County.

Clarion-based State Police, Knox Volunteer Fire Department, Knox EMS, Shippenville Ambulance, and PennDOT were dispatched to the scene.

Initial reports indicated the accident involved a head-on collision and three individuals were injured.

Multiple patients were transported to UMPC Northwest for treatment and the roadway was closed for an over an hour.

Both Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom and Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh stated they were not called to the scene.

The roadway re-opened around 11:50 a.m.

State Police in Clarion are expected to release additional information within 24 hours.
