Myrtle Irene Knauff, 88, formerly of Old Ash Road, Springfield Township, passed away after an extended illness at 6:45 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, where she resided since 2005.

Mrs. Knauff was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Coolspring Township to Donald G. and Ruth L. Miller King.

Myrtle was a graduate of Fredonia High School.

She formerly was a waitress at the former Dad’s Restaurant, Grove City and was formerly employed at Grove City Diner.

A homemaker, Myrtle was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City. She formerly belonged to the Star Promenaders Square Dance Club, Sandy Lake; Paws and Taws Square Dance Club, New Castle; and Ramblers Square Dance Club.

Her husband, Robert W. Knauff, whom she married Nov. 28, 1945, passed away Aug. 5, 2001.

Surviving are: four children, Clifford E. Knauff and his wife Linda S., Farrell; Roberta Graham and her husband Ronald, Grove City; Daniel M. Knauff, Mercer; and Mary A. Mathews and her husband John H., Harrisville; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Margaret Carbone and her husband Dominick, New Castle; and Mary Kerr and William, Florida; and two brothers, Donald King and his wife Faye “Tiny”; and George King and his wife Peggy, all Mercer.

Besides her husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucille King and Estella Knauff; and a brother, Howard King.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Knauff to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 819 Columbia Ave., Grove City, PA 16127.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (7-28-14) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (7-29-14) in the funeral home, followeby interment at Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
