Nancy Tugwell Nanovsky, 93, of Marianne Estates, Shippenville, Pennsylvania died on December 20, 2014 in Shippenville.

Born on June 14, 1921 in Farmerville, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Dr. Egbert and Carrie Gibson Tugwell.

In 1928, the family moved to Baton Rouge where Mrs. Nanovsky was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and attended Louisiana State University.

She was a graduate of the Baton Rouge Secretarial and Business College and was employed as an executive and legal secretary.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, Clarion’s Women’s Club, Chapter CB of PEO, and Beta Sigma Phi and Alpha Gama Delta sororities.

Surviving are two sons, William T. and his wife Betty Lou of Plantation, Florida, and Robert S. of Shippenville, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren: Jeffrey T. Wright and his wife Erin of Boca Raton, Florida, Katherine A. Cooper and her husband Aaron of Lakewood, Ohio, John J. Nanovsky of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Robert T. Nanovsky of Harrington, Delaware and Melinda C. Nanovsky of Newark, Delaware; as well as six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Nanovsky was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Nanovsky, and her daughter Ann Marie Nanovsky Wright.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 5, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Clarion.

Memorial contributions may be made to the choir of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, Clarion Forest Visiting Nurse Association, or Charitable Deeds and Services in Knox, Pennsylvania.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion.
