Bob Becker served our country in the United States Army.

Name: Sylvester R. “Bob” Becker, Jr.

Born: March 2, 1925

Died: September 15, 2021

Hometown: Oil City, Pa.

Branch: U.S. Army

Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII from May 1943 to January 1946 in Europe.

He was awarded various medals during his military service, including some with clusters. He was hospitalized in Germany after being injured in the war.

He also served his community through his memberships with the Reno United Methodist Church, the Disabled American Veterans and Commanders Club, and a member of the National WWII Memorial and other community-based organizations.

Bob frequently volunteered for homeless veterans.

He was laid to rest in the Lamey Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the VETS Honor Guard.
