FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A New Bethlehem man was sentenced August 31 to serve between one and seven years in state prison for various sex offenses.

According to court documents, Douglas Tyler Greenawalt, 25, of New Bethlehem entered a negotiated guilty plea in May related to Venango County charges in which he tried to pay a minor girl for sexual acts in January 2014.

According to online court information, Greenawalt pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful contact with a minor while charges of corruption of minors, promoting prostitution of a minor, harassment, and criminal use of a communication facility were dismissed.

In addition to serving one to seven years at the Camp Hill correctional facility, court documents indicate Greenawalt was fined $500.00 and is not eligible for the state’s Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive, a program which could have reduced his sentence.

Greenwalt’s time in court isn’t over — he still faces a host of sex offense charges in Clarion County.

He is charged with raping a 20-year-old Clearfield woman near New Bethlehem in August 2014.

That incident is one of several in which Greenawalt allegedly used an online alias to meet women.

He was also later charged with sex crimes for a summer 2013 incident in which he allegedly offered to pay a 15-year-old girl for sex acts.
