New Brewery Coming to Titusville

TITUSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Residents of the Titusville area will have a new option for a finely crafted brew in the coming months.

According to The Meadville Tribune, Lavery Brewing, of Erie, will be opening a location in Titusville in July.

The brewery will be taking over the space located at 113 S. Franklin Street, which is currently occupied by the Blue Canoe Brewery.

Lavery Brewing, which was founded in 2009, is owned and operated by Jason Lavery and his wife, Nicole, with their primary location on West 12th Street in Erie.

The company has won a number of awards for its beers, including a medal from the largest competition in the nation, The Great American Beer Festival.

Records from The Great American Beer Festival show that Lavery was awarded a gold medal in the French & Belgian-Style Saison category in 2013 for their Liopard Oir Farmhouse Saison, beating 118 other entries.

According to The Tribune, Lavery intends to try to work with the current employees of the Blue Canoe Brewery and hopes they will agree to continue to work following the change of ownership. Lavery Brewing is expected to employ 12 to 15 people at their new Titusville location.

According to Laurie Baker, executive director of Titusville Community Development Agencies, the location is owned by the Titusville Community Development Agencies and was leased to Blue Canoe Brewery.

The location will be turned over to the Laverys on July 1, and they have a tentative opening date of July 13.

While the change in businesses at the location is clear, the reason for the change is a murkier issue, which Baker declined to comment on. However, according to The Tribune, financial issues may be the reason for Lavery Brewery taking over the space on Franklin Street in Titusville.
