New Information Released in Car vs. Pony Crash; Boy in Stable Condition

BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State Police in Clarion have released additional details surrounding a Friday afternoon accident in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

Police say the accident happened around 3:44 p.m. when a pony ridden by a 13-year-old Knox boy entered the intersection of Exley Road and State Route 208 and subsequently collided with a 2009 Ford Taurus operated by Kimberly J. Slaugenhaupt, 44, of Knox.

STAT MedEvac transported the juvenile male to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of major injuries.

The boy is currently in stable condition.

Police say the pony was killed by the impact.

Slaugenhaupt and a juvenile passenger escaped injury in the crash.

No citations were issued.

Knox Fire Department and Knox EMS assisted at the scene.
