SENECA, Pa. (EYT) — Local officials believe the addition of the new plaza in front of the Home Depot in Cranberry Township can only be positive to area development.

“I think it’s a good, positive impact to see growth up there,” Venango County Commissioner Albert “Chip” Abramovic said. “Hopefully, it starts to drive some more growth up there and gives them a nice boost.”

Jason Ruggiero, the Executive Director of the Venango County Regional Planning Commission believes anytime commercial options can be added it’s a positive for the community.

“I think any development that adds to the commercial base that is already in a commercial area is a positive development,” Ruggiero said. “Anything that adds commercial options for residents is a good thing as are the jobs that go with them.”

Koah Pentz, Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer for Cranberry Township, echoed Ruggiero’s thoughts.

“I certainly think it’s good,” Pentz said. “It may provide additional jobs and attract more people or help existing businesses in the area.”
