Nighttime Lane Closures Scheduled for Interstate 79 in Crawford County

| June 12, 2018

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Pa. – Nighttime lane closures will be in effect for Interstate 79 southbound in Crawford County starting today.

Both lanes of southbound traffic lanes will be closed from 7 PM to 7 AM June 11, 12, 13, and 14, 2018, weather permitting. The closures will be in effect from Exit 147 (Route 322) to Exit 141 (Route 285).

A detour will be posted using Route 322, Route 19, and Route 285.

The nighttime closures are required in order for concrete to be placed on the bridge deck that carries southbound Interstate 79 traffic over the Conneaut Swamp in Greenwood Township, Crawford County.

Additionally, northbound Interstate 79 will have a single lane restriction in place from mile marker 140.5 to mile marker 142 from June 11 to June 15.

The work is part of an $11.3 million multi-year project to rehab the 3,600-foot-long twin Interstate 79 bridges. Construction during 2018 focuses on the southbound bridge and is scheduled to be completed by November 2018. The northbound bridge was completed during the 2017 construction season.
