Nora Wright 1Nora Mae “Mimi” Wright, 91, died peacefully June 30, 2017 at Titusville Hospital after a short illness.

She was born April 17, 1926 in Bellevue, PA to Marelda and Walter Frederick.

She grew up on East 9th Street, graduated from Cranberry High School in 1944, then earned a degree from Grove City College.

She married W. Roger Wright in 1948 and they remained together for 50 years until his passing.

Mrs. Wright lived in Western and Eastern Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, and Florida before returning home to Cranberry in 1993. After her husband’s passing she relocated to Massachusetts, then returned to Oil City in 2008.

For the last two years she resided at Southwoods Assisted Living in Titusville.

Nora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and mother-in-law.

She loved travelling with Roger and spending time with her family.

She enjoyed painting, and as a young woman studied under Oil City artist and Lutheran minister, Edward Kuhlmann.

Nora had a true gift for good-natured conversation, and made friends easily wherever she went.

She was a great listener with a quick wit, and confident in her opinions and measured advice.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her.

Besides her husband, Roger, she is preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Cooley, brother Bill, and sister-in-law Nancy.

Nora is survived by son-in-law George Cooley (Oil City), grandchildren Eli Cooley (Oil City) and Abigail Cooley (Baltimore, MD), and niece Susan Cada (Gaithersburg, MD).

A memorial service will be held July 22nd at 11am at Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City, followed by a private interment at Brandon Cemetery in Seneca.
