Norma Jean HeinrichNorma Jean (“Jean”) Heinrich, 85, of Chestnut Ridge Dr., Clarion, died at her home on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017.

Born May 21, 1931, in Snydersburg, Jean was the daughter of the late Francis C. and Elva M. (Schmader) Snyder and was one of 13 children.

She married Eugene R. (“Gene”) Heinrich of Clarion on Aug. 3, 1957, at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. Her loving and beloved husband of 43 years preceded her in death on Mar. 17, 2000.

Jean was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Lucinda.

She was employed in her earlier years at Sylvania in Brookville and later served during two separate periods as a dedicated employee at First Seneca Bank (currently PNC) on Main St. in Clarion. Her work was always done meticulously and with a smile.

A long-time active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion, Jean served as a volunteer to both the church and the Immaculate Conception School for a number of years.

She also enjoyed playing bingo at IC School, especially on her lucky nights in the early years when she would convert her winnings into late-night treats of Harry’s pizza for her five young children at home.

In addition to cherishing the time spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren, Jean also enjoyed painting, playing cards (Skat, Rummy, Tripoley) and Yahtzee/Kismet, and listening to music.

In later years she enjoyed the special time spent with her loving team of dedicated caregivers.

Jean is survived by her five children and their spouses: Stephen M. (Jodie Curro) Heinrich of Milwaukee, WI; Karen M. Heinrich of Warren, OH; Kevin M. (Maria Nebiolo) Heinrich of Brookville; Gregory F. Heinrich of Newport News, VA; and Kristine M. (Jerry) Wolbert of Clarion. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Taylor M. Heinrich of Pittsburgh, Kelsey N. Heinrich of Erie, Jacob S. Heinrich of Hampton, VA, and Trey A. Heinrich of Newport News, VA, and three step-grandchildren, Kelly L. Wolbert of Bowling Green, OH, Ryan L. Dance of Los Angeles, and Mikail A. Dance of Chicago.

Of Jean’s five sisters, two survive: Margaret A. (“Peg”) Bauer and Lois E. Scott, both of Marienville. Surviving sisters-in-law include Leona (“Chris”) Heinrich, Maria (“Kookie”) Heinrich, and Elizabeth Keim, all of Clarion; Willivine (“Whoopie”) Snyder of Snydersburg; and Ruth Snyder of Lucinda. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Carl H. Beckwith of Clarion.

Jean was preceded in death by three sisters and all seven brothers: Imelda M. (“Med”) Griebel, Phyllis B. Bowen, and Anastasia C. (“Ann”) Osterried; and Gerard F. (“Pete”) Snyder, Eugene J. (“Huey”) Snyder, William H. Snyder, Leon W. (“Ene”) Snyder, John E. (“Jack”) Snyder, Kenneth S. (“Nugget”) Snyder, and Francis C. Snyder, Jr. (infant).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s honor to the Immaculate Conception Church or the Immaculate Conception School, Main St., Clarion; the Clarion Forest Visiting Nurse Association, 271 Perkins Rd., Clarion (www.cfvna.org); or a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, February 7.

A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Clarion, with the Rev. Monty Sayers presiding.

Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Clarion.
