Norman L. Plummer

Norman L. Plummer, 71, of Franklin, passed away at his residence at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017.

Born January 17, 1946 in Franklin, Norman was the son of the late George and Margaret Wright Plummer. He married the former Virginia “Giny Kay” Phillips at the Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin on October 9, 1965, and she preceded him in death on October 8, 2011.

Mr. Plummer was a 23 year US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War, Desert Storm and the Gulf War. He worked for the US Army as a Training NCO and was stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Salt Lake City, Utah, Norwalk, Ohio, and Hartford, Connecticut. He also had worked for Chicago Pneumatic Tool and Joy Manufacturing.

As a child, Norman loved growing up on “the farm” where he lived in the little village of “Peatown” with his parents and brother.

He enjoyed tinkering and making things, spending time in the woods hunting, and spending time with his dogs. He especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed attending their sporting events.

He is survived by his son, Norman Lee Plummer, II of Stoneboro; his daughter, Ginger Connor and her husband, Marc, of Franklin; his four grandchildren, Matthew Plummer, Lisa Plummer, Samantha Connor, and Tessa Connor; and his five great-grandchildren, Matthew Plummer, Chance Ritchey, Dakoda Plummer, Martin Kelly, and Levi Bucholz.

He is also survived by his brother, George Allen Plummer and his wife, Andrea, of Stoneboro.

Family and friends of Mr. Plummer will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Monday, December 4th from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Jason Peterson, pastor of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Interment will be in Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
