North Clarion Girls Top Cranberry to Claim Third Straight KSAC North Title

SENECA, Pa. (D9Sports) – Behind 21 points and 14 rebounds from Tori Obenrader, North Clarion locked up its third straight KSAC North title with a 48-34 conference win at Cranberry.

The She-Wolves moved two games up on both Cranberry and Clarion in division play with two games left for North Clarion. That coupled with a season sweep of Cranberry, no worse than a split against Clarion and wins over A-C Valley, Moniteau and Karns City – one of whom will win the KSAC South clinches – the title for the She-Wolves.

North Clarion trailed early, 10-1, but rallied to make it 10-9 and led 27-18 at halftime.

Cranberry came back and made it 36-30 late in the third quarter, but after North Clarion scored to make it 38-30, Cranberry turned the ball over and Obenrader hit a 3-point shot from midway between the half-court line and the 3-point arc to put the She-Wolves up 41-30 going to the fourth.

Abby Gatesman added eight points and 11 assists and Haley Sherman had seven points for North Clarion.

Erin Merryman paced Cranberry with 11 points, Hannah Duncan added 10 and Malliah Schreck nine.

A-C VALLEY 56, MONITEAU 37

FOXBURG, Pa. – Ellie Thompson netted a game-high 20 points, as A-C Valley swept the season series from visiting Moniteau with a 56-37 KSAC South win.

Cami McNany added 10 points for the Lady Falcons with Annie Viertel chipping in nine and Kylee Eaton eight.

Emman Bair had 21 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots to pace Moniteau.

KEYSTONE 43, KARNS CITY 31

KNOX, Pa. – Taylor Geer and Tessa Weaver combined to score 26 points to help Keystone to a crucial for its playoff hopes 43-31 win over visiting Karns City in KSAC South action.

Geer led the Lady Panthers, who picked up their second win in as many nights, with 16 points with Weaver adding 10.

Keystone won the game from the free-throw line where it went 13 of 14 including 9 of 10 in the fourth quarter.

Emily Hegedus, who hit a shot from beyond halfcourt at halftime to get the Lady Gremlins within one, 19-18, paced Karns City with a game-high 22 points including going 11 of 14 from the line, but no other Lady Gremlin had more than four points.

Emily Lauer, meanwhile, chipped in eight for Keystone.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 45, FOREST AREA 34

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Maddy Craig scored 15 points to help Clarion-Limestone to its first win of the season, 45-34, over visiting Forest Area.

Jes Ball added nine points for the Lady Lions with Anna Kennemuth scoring eight.

Bianca Hetrick had 12 points and 14 rebounds to lead Forest Area with Jasmine Ginnery and Mikaya Bellotti each adding eight.
