Obenrader has worked her way into the starting lineup for the Lady Knights and averaged 11 points and 8.5 rebounds on 47.3 percent shooting this week. The freshman scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 50-48 road win over Clarion (2/17/19) and followed it up with a team-high 13 points and nine rebounds on Saturday afternoon against Slippery Rock (3/2/19).

In total, Obenrader has snared over 200 rebounds this season to average 7.0 per contest. She has dropped in at least eight points in seven consecutive games, which includes three double-digit scoring efforts.

It mars Obenrader’s seventh time winning the award, capturing it previously on Nov. 19, Dec. 3, Jan. 14 and Feb. 11, 18 and 25. The honor bumps the Lady Knights’ total of freshman of the week awards to 12 of 15 weeks, with the final week of the award being administered today.

After earning the award Monday, Obenrader helped Gannon upset Edinboro, 71-67, in the PSAC Tournament. She had eight points and seven rebounds in the win. The sixth-seeded Lady Knights take on California (Pa.) in the quarterfinals Wednesday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Cal.
