October Heatwave Forecasted for Area

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – Above-normal temperatures for the Venango County area are expected for today and will stay for the Applefest this weekend and continue through Columbus Day.

According to the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh, although a cold front will most likely bring showers and storms to the area on Thursday, temperatures will still be five to 10 degrees above normal highs for early October. A high of 73 degrees is predicted.

This is only the beginning of what is expected to be an October heatwave with highs of 78 degrees on Saturday, 77 on Sunday, and then 80 on Monday.

High temperatures are also expected to remain above-normal through the Wednesday with a high of 77 degrees, according to the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh.
