Oil City Falls to Mercyhurst Prep in D10 4A Semifinals

ERIE, Pa. (EYT) — Mercyhurst Prep jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead on its way to a 76-37 win over Oil City in the District 10 Class 4A girls’ semifinals Wednesday night at the Prep-Villa Center in Erie.

The Lakers led 16-8 after a quarter and then expanded the lead to 35-13 at the break.

Kaitlyn Pasko and Emily Thompson each scored 17 points for Mercyhurst Prep with Megan Spizarny and Abby Chermack adding 10 points apiece.

Grace King led Oil City with 11 points with Tessa Stack scoring nine and Abby Yeager seven.

Oil City ends its season at 15-8.

Mercyhurst Prep will take on Villa Maria in the title game Saturday.
