OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — With cold temperatures and an abundance of snow in the forecast for this winter, the Oil City Fire Department has begun accepting donations for the ‘2014 Coats for Kids’ collection drive.

Through last year’s drive, Oil City Firefighters were able to purchase over 600 coats for kids in the Oil City School District, Head Start, and the CDC. This year, the fire department is hoping be able to improve on last year’s benchmark and provide 800 winter coats for local children in need.

Donations will be accepted in person at either of the fire department’s stations or by mail to:

Oil City Firefighters Local 700
404 Central Ave.
Oil City, Pa. 16301

In partnership with Operation Warm, Oil City Firefighters will also be accepting donations online at donate.operationwarm.org.

The Oil City Fire Department stations are located at 404 Central Avenue and 332 Bissell Avenue in Oil City.
