WATERFORD, Pa. (EYT) — Oil City has a shot at clinching the District 10, Region 7 title Friday night when it travels to Fort LeBoeuf.

A win by the Oilers (7-0 overall, 5-0 D10, R7) clinches the Region title. A loss would leave them tied with at least Fort LeBouef (4-3, 4-1) and would be a three-way tie if Meadville (5-2, 4-1) beats winless DuBois.

Oil City is going to run the ball.

Noah Petro leads the way with 144 carries for 1,173 yards and 17 touchdowns after running for over 300 yards in a win over Meadville last week.

Cam Russell has added 626 yards and six touchdowns on the ground with quarterback Holden Stahl rushing for 336 yards and four scores while going 14-for-29 for 339 yards and five touchdowns through the air.

Fort LeBoeuf also likes to run the ball.

Jack Rimpa leads the Bison with 563 yards and five scores while also catching five passes for 126 yards and a score.

Ben Turi adds 486 yards and six touchdowns, while quarterback Max Endress is 11 of 37 passing for 204 yards, six touchdowns and two picks.

FRANKLIN FACES GENERAL MCLANE

Franklin (2-5, 1-3) travels to General McLane (1-6, 1-4) trying to end a three-game losing streak.

The Knights will have to find a way to win without senior quarterback Ian Haynes, who is out for the season with an AC injury in his throwing arm.

Haynes finishes his terrific career just shy of 9,000 career passing yards (8,886) with 86 career touchdowns. That included going 142 of 233 for 1,980 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

The normally pass-heavy Knights will now turn to wide receiver Cade Adams to run the show. Adams had caught 49 passes for 661 yards and four touchdowns on the season, second on the team in those categories.

Adams does have the services of Dalton Buckley (57 catches, 981 yards, 9 TDs) and Eli Stewart (80 carries, 435 yards, 2 TDs) to help him out.

Don’t expect General McLane to feel sorry for Franklin because of the Haynes’ injury.

The Lancer suffered their own loss of their best player to a season-ending injury earlier in the year when star Ben Howe-Jones went down with a knee injury.

Jared Iavarone-Campbell (291 yards, 6 TDs) and Matt Leehan (225 yards rushing; 49 of 98 passing, 811 yards, 5 TDs, 3 Ints) lead the way along with Nate Jones (16 catches, 300 yards, 4 TDs)
