OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday for an Oil City man who is accused of assaulting a woman during a domestic dispute.

According to court documents, a preliminary hearing for 18-year-old Mickel Benjamin Hall, of Oil City, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, in Venango County Central Court on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment – Comm. Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3

Hall is currently free on $10,000.00 monetary bail.

The charges stem from a domestic dispute that occurred around 5:35 p.m. on January 31 at a residence on Cedar Avenue in Oil City, Venango County.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, officers from the Oil City Police Department responded to a house on Cedar Avenue for an active physical domestic dispute.

Officer Anderson, of the Oil City Police Department, made contact with the victim and a witness in the residence. Both individuals reported that Mickel Hall became agitated when he was told he would not be able to have his significant other come to the residence for the weekend, the complaint states.

Hall reportedly threw an ashtray into the victim’s television and another ashtray into an electric fireplace.

Damages to both the RCA 65″ television (valued at $735.74) and the fireplace (value unknown) were observed.

According to the complaint, Hall allegedly walked over to the victim and punched her on the top of her head.

He then exited the residence and punched a wall on the way out, stating: “I don’t (expletive) care about any of you anyways,” the complaint indicates.

Hall was arraigned at 7:15 p.m. on January 31 in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.

He was lodged in Venango County Jail on January 31 on $10,000.00 monetary bail.

He was released on February 1 after his bail was posted by a professional bondsman.
