VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man facing felony charges for allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old girl is due in court next week.

Court documents indicate 19-year-old Ryan Andrew Snyder, of Oil City, will appear in Venango County Central Court at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, on the following charges:

• Sexual Assault, Felony 2
• Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
• Unlawful Contact With Minor — Sexual Offenses, Felony 3
• Indecent Assault Without Consent Of Other, Misdemeanor 2

Snyder is currently free on a $35,000.00 surety bond posted by a professional bondsman.

According to a criminal complaint, on September 13, 2017, Patrolman Ruditis, of the Oil City Police Department, conducted an interview with a known 15-year-old female juvenile.

The victim stated that she traveled to the area of “the shamrock” around the date of September 5, 2017, late at night or in the early morning hours, and had contact with Ryan Andrew Snyder at a residence near the landmark. Patrolman Ruditis recognized the residence from prior law enforcement matters as a residence on Clearfield Street frequented by Snyder.

The victim also stated that while at the residence with Snyder, they engaged in sexual intercourse twice without the victim’s consent. The victim stated that she then fled the residence and returned home after Snyder fell asleep, the complaint states.

Patrolman Ruditis contacted Snyder via telephone on September 22, 2017. Snyder did not want to speak to Patrolman Ruditis in person due to having outstanding arrest warrants but agreed to speak on the phone, according to the complaint.

Snyder allegedly admitted to being with the victim at the residence and stated that the sexual intercourse with the victim only happened once. He also stated that it was consensual, according to the complaint.

The complaint states that Snyder then agreed to travel to the Oil City Police Department for a formal interview regarding the incident; however, he failed to do so.

In June of 2018, Patrolman Ruditis conducted a follow-up interview with the victim in the presence of a delegate from Venango County Children and Youth Services. The victim reiterated the same details that she previously provided, the complaint indicates.

Snyder was arraigned at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.
