Oil City Man Allegedly Assaults Woman During Domestic Dispute in Cranberry Township

Police sirenCRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say an Oil City man has been accused of assault following a domestic dispute that allegedly occurred on September 20, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 7:45 a.m. on September 20, Benjamin James Yashinski, 28, of Oil City, allegedly assaulted a 27-year-old female victim during a domestic dispute at a location along Bredinsburg and Deep Hollow Road, in Cranberry Township.

Based on the investigation, a criminal complaint was filed against Yashinski in District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.

He was arraigned at 2:30 p.m. on September 20, on the following charges:

  • Harassment – Comm. Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3
  • Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (three counts)

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on September 28, at Venango County Central Court in front of Judge Lowrey.
