Oil City Man Busted for Allegedly Attempting to Sell Prescription Drugs

OIL CITY, Pa., (EYT) – An Oil City man has been arrested after he allegedly attempted to sell prescription medication.

According to court documents, the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 52-year-old Albert Allen Beach Jr., of Oil City.

It is alleged that Beach attempted to sell Vicodin to a confidential informant (C.I.) around 12:58 p.m. on April 10, at McDonald’s parking lot in Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, Albert Beach allegedly exchanged a series of text messages with a C.I. making arrangements and coordinating the delivery of five Vicodin for the price of $50.00.

Beach was taken to the Oil City Police Department where he was read the Miranda Warnings. During this time, Beach allegedly made statements admitting to his addiction and saying that he was doing his friend a favor, the complaint states.

He was arraigned at Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on Tuesday, April 10, at 3:45 p.m. on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Criminal Conspiracy Engaging — Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or
Deliver, Felony
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $15,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 18, 2018, at 8:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish.
