FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man was charged after he was caught with marijuana inside the Venango County Jail.

Court documents indicate the Franklin Police Department filed criminal charges against 43-year-old John Arthur Crawford Jr..

According to a criminal complaint, on February 15, Ptlm. Floor of the Franklin Police Department was dispatched to the Venango County Jail for a report of a male with contraband.

According to the complaint, Ptlm. Floor was advised that John Crawford Jr. was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana inside the jail.

Crawford was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, on one second-degree felony count of contraband/controlled substance.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, with Judge Kirtland presiding.
