Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, Fry traveled to a local business with 37-year-old Melinda Craig, of Oil City, on December 22, 2017. Upon arrival, Craig purchased a 9mm pistol in her name, after completing the forms required to be completed by law for the purchase of a firearm.

Then, on December 27, 2017, Craig and Fry, conducted an illegal transfer of the pistol purchased in Craig’s name. Craig wrote out a sales slip to Fry on a piece of notebook paper, which read: “I [name omitted] sold William E. Fry Jr. a 9mm gun for $250 in cash.” The form is signed by both individuals, as well as one known witness and two other witnesses with illegible signatures.

Due to Fry’s criminal history, as he was previously convicted of crimes related directly to a pattern of domestic violence, he is ineligible to purchase or possess a firearm under 18 US Code 922 — Unlawful Acts.

Another known individual was interviewed who indicated that (he/or she) has, on multiple occasions, witnessed Fry carrying a pistol in an ankle holster fitting the description of the one purchased at the local business. The individual indicated that Fry also carries a pistol inside the waistband of his pants, according to the complaint.

Charges against Craig for the following felony counts were held for court:
