The charges stem from an investigation into counterfeit money that began on November 12 after Sugarcreek Borough Police were advised that Turaha Simmons agreed to sell counterfeit money that he was making.

Police say Simmons agreed to sell $1,000.00 worth of counterfeit money to an undercover officer for $250.00.

Simmons was subsequently arrested in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle store in Franklin.

According to police, after being read his Miranda rights, Simmons consented to an officer collecting the remainder of his counterfeit money and his printer at the residence where he was staying on Butler Alley in Oil City, Venango County.

Court documents indicate Simmons was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 6:30 p.m. on November 12.
