Oil City Man Cited After Alleged ‘Drunken Rage’ in Plum Township

PLUM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say an Oil City man is being charged with public drunkenness and related charges after he allegedly became enraged at a party on July 23 at PAP’s Campground in Plum Township, Venango County.

According to police, after an all-night drinking soiree at PAP’s Campground, 25-year-old Steven Mendez, of Oil City, allegedly became enraged when everyone else wanted to call it a night at 6:00 a.m.

Police say in what witnesses described as a “drunken fit of rage,” Mendez allegedly busted a window out of a female friend’s travel trailer and struck another female friend with a full beer can.

According to police, upon discovering PSP had been called, “Mendez’s rage turned to fear,” and he ran off into the woods.

He will be cited through Magisterial District Court 28-3-01 for the following offenses:

– Harassment
– Public Drunkenness
– Criminal Mischief
