Oil City Man Escapes Injury in Rockland Township Crash

police lightsROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police responded to a one-car accident late Tuesday night on Pittsville Road, in Rockland Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 11:38 p.m., 20-year-old Daniel C. Hogue, of Oil City, was traveling south on Pittsville Road when he swerved to the right to avoid a deer on the roadway. His 2005 Pontiac G6 traveled off the western berm of the road and into a ditch. The vehicle’s passenger side front tire had initial impact with the ditch. The vehicle continued to travel south in the ditch and came to a final rest in the ditch facing west.

Hogue was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
