OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man is facing a preliminary hearing on indecent exposure and related charges after being discovered nude on public property in Oil City in late May.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department filed the following criminal charges against 36-year-old Shawn Michael Andres of Oil City:

– Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)
– Open Lewdness, Misdemeanor 3 (two counts)
– Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Misdemeanor 3 (two counts)
– Agricultural Trespasser Posted Land, Misdemeanor 3

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, with Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish presiding.

According to a criminal complaint, around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, Shawn M. Andres crossed privately owned open land, posted against trespass, attached on Shady Oak Lane, while wholly nude.

When Andres reached the area surrounding the Venango Catholic High School, he came into contact with and shocked and offended a female who was walking her dogs on the school property.

The complaint states that “his public display caused the woman to fear for her safety and flee the area leaving her dogs behind to ward off Andres.”

Then, around 3:50 p.m., Andres was observed on the open public property of the beach area near the Oil City Marina. Andres fell down a hillside and injured himself causing him to cry out for help. Individuals in the area found him, still wholly nude, and contacted the Oil City Police Department, according to the complaint.

Patrolman Rembold spoke to Andres at the scene after summoning emergency medical services. During their conversation, Andres admitted to being the nude man who frightened a woman behind the Venango Catholic High School, the complaint states.

Charges were filed against Andres on Thursday, May 26, in Judge Fish’s office.
