FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man who was involved in a 2016 fire that destroyed a trailer in Orchard Park Mobile Home Court in Cranberry Township is scheduled to be resentenced on Friday morning after his probation was revoked in April.

Crusan’s probation was revoked on April 12, 2018.

On October 16, 2016, he pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree felony arson-intent to destroy unoccupied building.

As a result of the plea agreement, the following charges were dismissed:

On December 6, 2016, Crusan was sentenced to a minimum of 202 days to a maximum of 23 months and 29 days, with credit for 202 days served, as well as eight years of probation.

Details of the May 2016 arson case:

During his investigation of a May 15, 2016 fire that destroyed a trailer in Orchard Park Mobile Home Court in Cranberry Township, Officer Lindenberg, of PSP Franklin, discovered that a verbal altercation transpired between the mobile homeowner and Gerald Crusan prior to the blaze.

It was learned through Gerald Crusan’s interview that “his brother (Shawn Douglas Crusan) lit a stuffed animal on fire and threw it in the bathtub.”

Gerald threw a towel on the stuffed animal and believed the fire was out, according to police.

The PA State Police Fire Marshal was requested to investigate the fire.

The fire marshal determined the point of origin was consistent with Gerald Crusan’s statement, police say.

A dog was discovered dead in its cage inside the trailer, according to police.
