CORPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man is facing burglary charges following an apparent break-in in Cornplanter Township on Friday morning.

Franklin-based State Police Tpr. Cross says the incident happened around 8:10 a.m. at a residence along Grandview Road.

David D. Stover, 36, allegedly gained entry to the home of a 35-year-old Oil City woman by prying open a basement door.

When the victim returned home from work, Stover allegedly fled the residence. He was observed running through the back yard and into the woods by the victim and a second witness, according to Tpr. Cross.

Police say a clear container filled with $1.00 coins was moved from a bedroom to the kitchen but nothing was removed from the residence.

A criminal complaint was filed with District Judge Andrew F. Fish charging Stover with Burglary.
