Oil City Man Jailed on $25k Bail for Allegedly Threatening, Chasing Woman with Knife

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — The Oil City Police Department responded to a report of a violent domestic incident on Thursday evening.

Around 11:28 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, Oil City Police Officers responded to a residence on Colbert Avenue for a report of a domestic dispute and 38-year-old Michael Lincoln Sr., of Oil City, was last seen in possession of a knife alone with children at the residence.

Officers arrived at the scene and spoke with the victim who reported that Lincoln had threatened to slice her throat with a knife and proceeded to chase her out of the house. She also reported that Lincoln threw objects at her outside of the residence prior to leaving the scene.

According to police, later that evening Lincoln was picked up on a traffic stop on the South Side of Oil City.

According to court documents, Lincoln was arraigned at 8:53 a.m. on September 28 in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats W/ Int To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, Summary

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
