Oil City Man Receives Probation for Domestic Violence Incident

Scales of Justice and Judge`s gavelFRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City man was sentenced to two years probation on Monday stemming from a violent domestic dispute in January.

According to court documents, 35-year-old Paul Raymond Marsh Jr., of Oil City, received the sentence from Judge Oliver Lobaugh after he pleaded guilty to one count of terroristic threats with the intent to terrorize another person, a first-degree misdemeanor.

The following charges were dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

According to a previous article on exploreVenango.com, around 8:42 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, Oil City Police officers received a report of a female and child being involved in a domestic dispute with a male suspect at a residence on Manning Street, in Oil City.

The complaint states that police made contact with the female victim, who was subsequently transported to the Oil City Police Department where she stated that Marsh Jr. had pushed and struck her during a domestic dispute in front of a known, minor child.

Furthermore, while attempting to lead the child from the residence, Marsh allegedly grabbed a knife. It is alleged that the known woman ushered the child from her residence and fled to a family member’s residence, the complaint states.

The victim stated that “she was in fear of death and/or serious bodily injury because of Marsh’s actions and his violent behavior,” according to the complaint.
