Details of the case:

The case began with a report of an attempted burglary on 2nd Avenue in Clarion Borough on Friday, March 17, 2017.

According to a criminal complaint, a female resident at the apartment said that two people – a known 13-year-old male neighbor and an unknown white male – entered her home earlier that morning.

According to the victim, the juvenile entered the apartment, followed by the unknown white male, later identified as Nathan Edward Harbison. Harbison approached the victim in the kitchen area of the apartment and told her multiple times to “open the safe.”

When the victim told Harbison that she did not have a safe, he allegedly stated, “I got a gun in my pocket, and I’ll shoot you.”

At that point, Harbison lifted the front of his shirt and revealed the grip part of what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband. He did not remove the gun from his waistband, according to the victim. The victim grabbed a kitchen knife, told the man to leave, then chased him and the juvenile from her residence.

Screen captures of one of the individuals from surveillance footage taken at the residence was provided to exploreClarion.com by investigators.

After the images were posted on exploreClarion.com, Trooper Knight was contacted by two individuals who were able to identify the unknown white male as Nathan Edward Harbison.

The known juvenile was later interviewed police and also provided information that his sibling’s friend “Nate” took a BB gun located in his closet and used it to threaten his neighbor.
