| March 25, 2018

HandcuffsCLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City man is facing criminal charges after allegedly trespassing on Clarion University property last month.

According to court documents, the Clarion University Police Department filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Adam Bruce Rhoades, of Oil City.

Rhoades was previously issued a “No Trespass Order” by the Clarion University Office of Judicial Affairs.

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:18 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, Sergeant Siegel responded to a Clarion University apartment in Clarion Township for a reported trespass complaint.

Upon arrival, Sergeant Siegel made contact with the reporting party who stated that Adam Rhoades was believed to have been at a location at a Clarion University apartment earlier that day to pick up a known female. The reporting party stated she believed that Rhoades has a “No Trespass Order,” the complaint states.

It was confirmed that Rhoades currently had an active “No Trespass Order” and was not permitted to be on the property in question. A search of the area was conducted by officers, and it was determined that Rhoads had left the premises before they arrived.

Around 5:22 p.m. on February 27, Sergeant Siegel made contact with Rhoades. Rhoades allegedly stated that he was at the location on Saturday, February 24, and again on Sunday, February 25. He allegedly admitted that he received and acknowledged a letter drafted by Clarion University Judicial Affairs advising him that he was not permitted on Clarion University of Pennsylvania property, including the specific Clarion University apartment in Clarion Township.

Based on the investigation, the following charges were filed against Rhoades on Thursday, March 22, in Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office:

– Defiant Trespass Actual Communication to Leave School (two counts)

A preliminary arraignment is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, with Judge Quinn presiding.
