Oil City Police Calls: Suspended Driver, Meth Possession, Theft

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – The Oil City Police Department responded to the following calls:

Suspended Driver/Drug Possession on Spring Street

Oil City Police conducted a traffic stop at the North Side Country Fair around 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, after observing 34-year-old Leon Patrick Wagner Jr., of Oil City, operating a vehicle.

According to police, Wagner is known to have a suspended driver’s license.

The vehicle was towed by Venango Towing and Recovery where police say further investigation resulted in a small amount of marijuana as well as methamphetamine being found. Police also located multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

The following charges are being filed:

  • Possession of a controlled substance (two counts)
  • Possession of small amount of marijuana (two counts)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (15 counts)
  • Driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked (one count)

Theft/Drug Possession on Plummer Street

Around 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, the Oil City Police were dispatched for a male found sleeping inside of a person’s vehicle.

Officers responded to the area and were able to locate 28-year-old James Goodlin, of Kennerdell, who matched the description of the male who was inside of the vehicle.

Police say Goodlin state that he woke up in someone’s car, but did not remember how he got there. Goodlin was found to be in possession of an item he took from the vehicle that did not belong to him and was then placed into custody for theft.

A search incident to arrest resulted in officers finding methamphetamine and Goodlin also allegedly left multiple items of drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle, as well as some of his personal belongings.

Goodlin was arraigned at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office, on the following charges:

  • Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor (two counts)
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (five counts)
  • Theft From A Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor 3
  • Adulterate Misbrand Any Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $1,500.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.
