Oil City Police Calls: Disturbance, Animal Cruelty, Public Drunkenness, CYS Investigation

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — The Oil City Police Department responded to the following incidents:

Disturbance at Days Inn

Around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, the Oil City Police Department responded to the Days Inn for a disturbance after the Days Inn front desk received multiple calls from guests about people being loud and disorderly.

Officers arrived and made contact with the guest and advised them of the complaint. The guest agreed to quiet down.

Officers then cleared the scene without incident.

Police Secure Window at School

Around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, the Oil City Police Department responded to Seventh Street Elementary School for a report of an open window.

The officers responded and made contact with the key holder. The school security officer also responded, and the building was secured.

Animal Cruelty on Fisher Avenue

Around 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 2, the Oil City Police Department responded to Fisher Avenue to check the welfare of a dog after a report was made that the dog was being left outside for over 20 hours without food or water.

Officers made contact with the dog, as well as its owner, and found the dog to be in healthy condition with water and a bowl of food as well as a dog house it could get into.

Child Related Call in Hasson Park

Around 5:40 p.m. on Monday, September 3, officers of the Oil City Police Department responded to Hasson Park on East Bissell Avenue after receiving a call that kids were on top of the stone arch that is part of the gate.

The officers arrived and found two known male juveniles sitting on the stone arch. The officers obtained their information and advised them that any further incidents could result in them being banned from Hasson Park.

Public Drunkenness on Charlton Street

Around 4:38 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, officers of the Oil City Police Department responded to the 100 Block of Charlton Street for a report of a suspicious male.

Upon arrival, the officers made contact with a known Franklin man who was behaving as if he were under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to police, the man admitted to using methamphetamine.

He was transported to the Oil City Police Department and charged with public drunkenness.

CYS Investigation on East Fourth Street

Around 12:38 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, officers of the Oil City Police Department responded to a residence on East Fourth Street to assist Venango County CYS with an ongoing investigation.

At this time, it is believed that the incident in question occurred outside of Oil City.
