State Police Calls: Harassment, Criminal Mischief

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Harassment in Plum Township

According to police, this incident occurred on Wednesday, September 12, as the suspect and complainant were sending text messages back and forth. The complainant reported the incident as harassment.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Criminal Mischief in Oakland Township

Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to a location on State Route 417 in Oakland Township around 9:31 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, for a report of a man smashing vehicles with an unknown object.

When the troopers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled to a nearby house.

There was fresh damage discovered to a 2003 Ford Taurus, a 2006 GMC 2500 pickup, and a vending machine, and a witness was able to identify the suspect, a known 59-year-old Cooperstown man.

When police made contact with the suspect, he confessed to smashing the vehicles. He was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia.

Charges are pending.

The name of the suspect was not released.
