Oil City Police Calls: Police Seek Information on Suspicious Man with Gun

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — The Oil City Police Department responded to the following incidents.

Suspicious Activity

Around 1:13 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, Oil City Police officers were dispatched to the area of Clarion Street for a report of a man, approximately 5’10” tall, exiting an unknown vehicle, wearing a black beanie cap and blue jeans, who the caller stated he believed was carrying a firearm in his hand.

The man was last seen walking up Clarion Street.

DUI

Around 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 26, Oil City Police located a man sleeping inside a running vehicle.

Upon contact with the man, it was determined he had consumed alcohol. He was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Charges are pending blood test results.

The man’s identity will be released upon the return of test results.

Disorderly Conduct

Around 9:10 p.m. on Friday, August 24, Oil City Police were dispatched to the parking lot of Country Fair along Spring Street for a report of a possible assault.

Further investigation is being conducted with the cooperation of Country Fair and charges are pending.

Hit-and-Run

On Friday, August 24, it was reported to the Oil City Police Department that a victim’s vehicle, which was parked in the 200 block of Elm Street, had been struck sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, by another vehicle, causing minor damage to its passenger side door and rear quarter-panel.
