Oil City Police Calls: Drunk Men Found Crawling on Sidewalk, Retail Theft at Country Fair

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — The Oil City Police Department responded to the following incidents.

Retail Theft

Oil City Police Officers were dispatched to North Side Country Fair for a retail theft incident around 4:14 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22.

The officers were shown video footage of the theft.

Charges are pending identification and location of the individual involved.

Public Intoxication

Oil City Police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Englewood Avenue around 2:50 a.m. on Friday, August 24, for a report of two males who were crawling up the sidewalk and appeared to have passed out.

The first man, a known 45-year-old Oil City man, got up and attempted to run before falling down and being taken into custody. The second man, a 42-year-old Oil City man, was arrested after he was found sleeping on the sidewalk.

Both men were cited for Public Intoxication.

Domestic Dispute

Oil City Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Warren Street for a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, the officers spoke with all of the involved parties. The involved parties agreed to go to separate areas for the night.

The officers cleared the scene without incident.

Motor Vehicle Accident

Officers of the Oil City Police Department responded to Dollar General on North Seneca Street for a minor motor vehicle accident.

The trailer of a tractor-trailer vehicle struck the overhead awning on the front of the store as the operator of the vehicle backed in for an early morning delivery.

The damage to the building was primarily cosmetic and there was no structural damage. There was also no major damage to the trailer.
