Oil City Police Calls: Suspicious Man, Vehicle Crashes into Porch

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – The Oil City Police Department responded to the following calls:

Suspicious Activity on Seely Avenue/Washington Avenue

Around 9:07 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, the Oil City Police Department responded to a report of suspicious activity at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Seely Avenue where a male was repeatedly walking around for approximately 20 minutes.

Oil City Police responded and made contact with the suspect. Police discovered the male was dropped off by his daughter recently and was in the area attempting to find a friend’s house. He agreed to leave the area and go home for the night.

Criminal Mischief on Orange Street

Around 7:00 a.m. to 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, two Oil City High School Students, one 16-year-old male and one 15-year-old male, painted graffiti on the street near the Seventh Street Elementary School.

The graffiti was covered up quickly by City Street Department personnel and the boys were charged with criminal mischief.

Underage Drinking

Around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, after receiving a call in relation to two underage females consuming alcohol, Oil City Police officers located and arrested a 19-year-old Oil City woman and a female juvenile.

Both individuals were released to their parents after being processed.

Traffic Incident on Harriott Avenue

Around 10:52 p.m. on Monday, October 1, Oil City Police responded to Harriott Avenue for a vehicle that had struck the front porch of the residence earlier in the day.

Upon their arrival, Oil City Police officers viewed tire tracks that traveled near the front porch area of the residence. It is unclear at this time if any damage was done to the porch of the residence as the porch was already in poor condition.

The vehicle involved in the incident is still unknown.
