Oil City Police Calls: Syringes Found, Incident with Juveniles, Drug Paraphernalia, Burglar Alarm

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – The Oil City Police Department responded to the following incidents:

Syringes in Roadway

Officers of the Oil City Police Department were dispatched around 5:07 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, for a report of syringes in the roadway in the area of the 10 Block of East 6th Street.

The syringes were collected and destroyed.

Juveniles’ Incident

Officers were dispatched to the area of State Route 8 near Electralloy and the road construction area around 5:51 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, for a report of three juveniles on the roadway.

The officers were unable to locate the juveniles.

Drug Paraphernalia

The Oil City Police Department assisted Venango County Probation with a check at a residence on Glenview Avenue on Tuesday, August 28.

Oil City Police were requested by Probation due to drug paraphernalia being located at the residence.

Through investigation and an admission, 36-year-old Adam Detar, of Oil City, was arrested and placed on a permanent detainer by Venango County Probation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Due to the location of the drug paraphernalia being in proximity to a two-year-old child, Detar was also charged with felony child endangerment.

Burglar Alarms

The Oil City Police Department responded to a bank on Central Avenue for a burglary alarm around 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29.

Police confirmed the building was secure and contacted a key-holder and the alarm company to confirm that the reason for the alarm was a brief power outage to the building.
