OIL CITY, Pa. — The Oil City Police Department announced that seat belt enforcement activities — as part of a statewide seat belt enforcement mobilization — will occur from October 20 through October 24 in Oil City.

The seat belt enforcement activities will be conducted October 20 through October 24 at Oil City High School and Venango Catholic High School, Oak Grove Street, East Bissell Avenue, West First Street, and other roadways and streets in Oil City.

The enforcement, coupled with educational outreach efforts, aims to increase teen seat belt use and raise awareness of the state’s primary law stating all vehicle occupants under 18 years old must wear a seat belt.

Drivers and front seat passengers over 18 years old who are cited for another traffic violation will receive a second ticket if they’re unbuckled.
