Oil City Police Report Retail Thefts

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Charges of retail theft were filed in two unrelated investigations by the Oil City Police Department.

Retail Theft at Country Fair on October 2

A known 21-year-old Oil City man was charged via summons with one count of misdemeanor retail theft arising from an incident that occurred around 6:00 p.m. on October 2.

The known man entered the Country Fair Store located on Wilson Avenue in Oil City with 18-year-old Asia Charday Hall, of Oil City.

Once inside the store, the individuals separated and placed various items in their pockets then exited the store without paying for them.

The individuals were positively identified by store staff and investigating officers, and the crimes were caught on store security systems.

According to court records, Hall was charged with one count of summary retail theft.

Information on the 21-year-old Oil City man has not yet been entered in the court system.

Retail Theft at Country Fair on October 3

A known, 21-year-old Oil City man was charged with one count of misdemeanor retail theft arising from an incident that occurred around 5:30 p.m. on October 3.

The known man entered the Country Fair Store located on Wilson Avenue in Oil City, made his way throughout the store removing various items from the shelves, placed them into his pockets, then exited the store without paying for them.

An additional count of felony retail theft was filed on the known man for a second incident occurring later that night around 8:00 p.m.

In this incident, the known man entered the store, removed a single item from the store shelf, placed it in his pocket, and again left the store without paying for it.

He was positively identified by store staff and investigating officers; the crimes were caught on store security systems.

There is currently an outstanding warrant for the known man’s arrest on these charges, based solely on the one count reaching felony level.

The known man has been cooperative with police and has setup an appointment to turn himself in for arraignment on these charges.
