Emanuele had been the sole owner of L.C. Emanuele Company and the Red and White Story since 1973 after joining his mother, Pauline, in running the business, which sold fruit and vegetables to area residents and businesses, started by his father, Louis, and mother in 1930, in 1964, until his recent retirement.

“Guy and his wife, Mary, in addition to running their business, also raised five children who have become successful in their own right,” the proclamation read in part.

Guy Emanuele had been part of the business for 63 years.

“I, William P. Moon Jr., Mayor of Oil City, do proclaim Sept. 27, 2018, as ‘Guy Emanuele’ Day in the City and encourage our citizens to wish Guy a happy retirement and much luck in the future,” another part of the proclamation read.
