Oil City Sex Offender Arrested for Megan’s Law Violation

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man has been charged with a Megan’s Law Violation.

Court documents indicate 31-year-old Timothy Joseph Culbertson was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, on one third-degree felony count of failure to register with the Pennsylvania State Police.

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, with Judge Fish presiding.

According to a criminal complaint, on or about Tuesday, March 12, Sr. Ptlm. Ruditis of the Oil City Police Department was contacted by Agent See of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole concerning Timothy Culbertson. Agent See advised that Culbertson is on the Megan’s Law registry and failed to complete his annual registration as required by law.

Sr. Ptlm. Ruditis confirmed the information and charges were subsequently filed on Tuesday, March 12.

According to the PA State Megan’s Law website, Culbertson was convicted of the following offense on January 11, 2018:

  • Indecent Assault
  • Unlawful Contact or Communication With Minor

His registration began on February 28, 2018.

He is listed as a ten-year registrant.
