Oil City Teen Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Victim with Knife, Awaits Preliminary Hearing

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City teen is awaiting a preliminary hearing after allegedly making threats to a man while traveling on Route 8, in Oil City, Venango County.

Court documents indicate 18-year-old Haundray Todd Muir, of Oil City, is facing the following charges following an April 12 incident:

  • Terroristic Threats Cause Serious Public Inconv., Misdemeanor 1
  • Harassment — Comm. Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3
  • Disorder Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Summary

Victim Reports Threat to Oil City Police

According to a criminal complaint released to exploreVenango.com, a male reported to Oil City Police Department that on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at approximately 8:30 p.m., he was allegedly threatened with a knife by another male while he was traveling along Route 8 in the city of Oil City.

The complaint states the victim reported two known males passed him near East Front Street at Central Avenue. When they observed him, they allegedly turned onto Central Avenue and followed him onto Route 8 and Kwik Fill.

The complaint indicates that during this time, the driver of the other unit was allegedly driving erratically, “cutting” him off in traffic and repeatedly slamming on his brakes attempting to cause the victim to rear end the other unit.

The victim reported he was allegedly threatened with a knife by Haundray Muir, a passenger in the other vehicle. The victim reported Muir allegedly had a knife in his hand and displayed it out the window, making gestures with his hands and the knife indicating the cuttings of his throat, according to the complaint.

Police Allegedly Determine Muir Possesses Knife Described in Incident

Through the course of the investigation, it was allegedly discovered that Muir possessed a dark in color pocket style Buck knife in which he displayed inside the vehicle while allegedly making the statement he would kill the victim, the complaint continues.

Muir Allegedly Admits to Confronting Victim with Knife

Muir also allegedly admitted to Oil City Patrolman Deloe that he possessed the knife on his person while in a confrontation with the victim who was in another vehicle on Route 8, the complaint states.

Muir allegedly admitted to exiting the vehicle in which he was a passenger and confronting the victim while the knife was still in his hand, the complaint indicates.

Muir Arrested, Awaiting Preliminary Hearing

Based on the information discovered during the investigation, Patrolman Deloe believes there is probable cause to substantiate the charges previously listed.

Muir was arrested on April 12, according to court documents.
