Oil City Teen to Be Sentenced in Sexual Assault Case

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT)  – An Oil City teen has pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault and will be sentenced later this month.

According to online court documents, Justin Waid Hunter, 19, of Oil City, recently pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony charge of Statutory Sexual Assault: Victim 4-8 years or older.

As part of the plea agreement, the following charges were dismissed:

– DSI Person Less Than 16 Yrs Age, Felony 1
– Aggravated Indecent Assault — Comp. Less Than 16, Felony 2
– Corruption Of Minors — Defendant Age 18 or Above 5, Felony 3
– Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Yrs Age, Misdemeanor 2

Hunter is scheduled to be sentenced on January 30 at 9:00 a.m. in front of President Judge Oliver Lobaugh.

Details of the Sexual Assault

Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against Hunter in July after Trooper Shawn Latshaw interviewed Hunter regarding his involvement with a known, 13-year-old female and her running away the night prior.

The complaint states that during the course of the interview, Hunter admitted that he picked up the known, 13-year-old female near her residence on Belmar Road, Sandycreek Township, sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. on July 25. He then drove her to his residence on Jefferson Street in Oil City.

They arrived at Hunter’s residence around 1:00 a.m. The known, 13-year-old female remained at Hunter’s residence until he drove her to his father’s house around 1:00 p.m. on July 25, the complaint continues.

According to the complaint, Hunter allegedly told police that he and the 13-year-old female had sexual intercourse at his residence.

Hunter is free on $75,000.00 unsecured bail, awaiting sentencing.
